Gilbert began his career in IT at Microsoft in 1996 and concluded it as Chief Technology Officer for Travel Technologies at the Internet incubator eCompany Ltd.
In 2003, he transitioned into independent consulting, eventually leading to a career in tax education development and administration.
Since 2005, he has been active in tax education development and administration, . He joined TRM Services, one of South Africa’s premier niche tax consulting firms, where he served as COO. His most prominent role at TRM Services was forming the tax education organization, I/I/T/F and being one of the founders of the publication “TaxTalk” in South Africa.
In 2008, he became the COO of I/I/T/F, allowing him to merge his expertise in IT and Tax. I/I/T/F, now the Academy of Tax LawTax laws form the backbone of any nation’s revenue system, setting the rules that govern how individuals and corporations contribute financially to support government functions. Firoozeh Ghaffari graduated from University College London with a BSc and MSc in Economics. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a fellow of the Institute of chartered accountants in England and Wales. She worked in practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, where she gained experience in auditing a wide range of blue-chip UK industries. She later worked for four years as group financial controller in Canada before returning to UK to join Middlesex University in 1996.
Firoozeh is currently a senior manager in the Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics at Middlesex University. Firoozeh served as the Head of the Accounting and FinanceDepartment in the Business School. Shehas also served on a number of committees including the IndependentRemuneration Panel for Barnet Council where she was the Chair of the Committee. She was the Vice-Chair of Heads of Departments of Accounting and Finance in UK. She is currently Chair of members at Hendon School, where she previously served as the Chair of the Governing Body of this multi-ethnic secondary school with 1500 students. She also Chaired the Finance Committee at Hendon School. Firoozeh also served on the Governing body of Middlesex University.
Firoozeh’s teaching expertise is in the area of Financial Reporting. She has published articles exploring the role of ethics in accounting education.
