Officials from Bangladesh and Estonia agreed in principle to conclude a bilateral income tax treaty during the 2nd Foreign Office Consultations held in Tallinn on 10 August 2026. The Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the agreement via a post on X, noting that both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the wider bilateral relationship.

No treaty between the two countries currently exists, so any agreement reached will be the first of its kind. Before it can have legal effect, the treaty will need to be finalised, signed, and ratified by both states in accordance with their respective constitutional and legislative procedures.
